London Machinery Inc. sells and services London® and McNeilus® concrete transit mixers and refuse trucks, as well as selling CON-E-CO® batch plants, IMT® products and associated aftermarket parts. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities include; Assure that the production schedules are met as determined by the master schedule. Oversees plant production by observing activity and setting standards to ensure production and quality needs are met. Attends meetings and discussions pertaining to continuous improvement management system (CIMS) in responsible areas. Directs Production Supervisors and Team Reps to foster the employee involvement process. Assure that all units manufactured meet or exceed quality standards. Assist in the development and coordination of new methods and procedures to reduce manufacturing costs. Perform inventories and contact with suppliers to obtain product when required Works with all areas/departments to continue to nurture one-piece flow. Assists in weekly scheduling for each department and the plant as a whole. Uses plasma cutting software (ProNest) to program Messer CNC plasma cutting table to generate various steel and/or aluminum components used in the manufacture of various assemblies used in the production of concrete transit mixers Other duties as responsibly assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Identify problem areas and work closely with the Operations and Production Staff and Supervision in meeting overall production goals. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS College or High School Graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of three to five years demonstrated practical experience working in a modern manufacturing setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Strong product or process knowledge in assembly, fabrication, welding, painting, heavy truck manufacturing, and/or up-fitting of truck chassis. Excellent people skills, interacting with several people and departments daily Strong leadership and motivational skills, with an advanced understanding of Excel and other computerized manufacturing systems. Understanding supply chain management and modern manufacturing methods (LEAN, 5S, PDCA, CI, One Piece Flow, etc.) Be able to handle multiple priorities, projects, and meet deadlines using strong organizational skills. Computer skills with Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Windows, ProNest, etc.., and able to work with customized computer-based production control systems. Ability to make accurate decisions in a timely manner, maintaining and optimizing inventory structure and flow of the product, improving the manufacturing system. Ability to lift 10 pounds on a regular basis. May be required to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Extensive Walking and Standing required. The successful candidate will advance the maintenance and optimization of the inventory structure and flow of the product.
