Position The ideal candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of embedded firmware design as well as a firm understanding of board-level electronics design. Desktop software development would be an excellent complementary skill set. The person must be flexible enough to work in a fluid and dynamic environment, working with a variety of skill levels and personalities. The candidate will participate in a comprehensive team designing the future capabilities of the world’s smallest and most rugged wireless microphone solutions. Primary responsibilities and accountabilities include firmware and software development, along with electronic design and support. An eagerness to learn and undertake new projects with minimal supervision will be a valuable asset. Skills, Abilities & Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: An Electronics Engineering Degree, Electronics Technologist Diploma or equivalent. 6+ years of embedded firmware experience, including RTOS and low-power principles. Strong familiarity of communications protocols such as RS232, USB, Ethernet, and low-power wireless (e.g. 802.15.4). Experience reading circuit schematics and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Ability to assist with the design and validation of low-power, and embedded systems. Experience with any of the following is an asset that should be highlighted in the cover letter: Desktop development using Python, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and/or Qt framework.
