To learn more about working at United Way, check out our website http://unitedwayem.ca/about-us/careers/ Position Description The Donor Experience Specialist is instrumental in inspiring our community to support United Way through strategic, meaningful events, volunteer experiences and engagement opportunities. Working in co-operation with the Development, Communications, and Community Impact teams, this cross-functional position manages a portfolio of affinity programs—primarily GenNext—and events designed to engage, inspire and mobilize volunteers and donors to action. Specific Responsibilities: Recruits, trains and engages volunteers/donors to create community impact in an identified area(s) Communicates with current volunteers to ensure information sharing and engagement Manages the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all activities Assists in the identification, design and implementation of fundraising opportunities Manages event budgets; develops, prepares and delivers sponsorship proposals and reports Facilitates conversations with funded agencies to build their capacity around community impact Convenes community partners to ensure transparency of United Way Collaborates and participates in initiatives involving multiple stakeholders Monitors, reviews and provides recommendations regarding programs and activities Identifies best practices through research to inform program and collaborative work Under the leadership of the Director, Development, manages the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes Provides advice, expertise, and support to other units regarding assigned agencies, community initiatives and strategies, and special projects Assists the Development team to design products for donors Provides content for donor engagement materials and events Works closely with team members to implement innovative events and engagement strategies Perform other duties as needed to ensure the safe and effective operations of the organization Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess: University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field Minimum three years related experience Proven experience and skill in building relationships and with multiple stakeholders Requires possession of a valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle with a minimum of $1,000,000 insurance coverage Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently; experience working with volunteers Proven event management experience Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to adapt and find creative solutions in a changing work environment with multiple deadlines and pressures Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; technologically agile; adept social media user Knowledge of content related to communities, populations, and issues specific to assigned portfolio(s) Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their cover letter and resume by 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4 to Lisa Simmons, Executive Assistant and Human Resources Officer: United Way Elgin Middlesex 409 King St, London, ON N6B 1S5 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you for your interest in joining United Way’s team; please note that only those being considered for interviews will be contacted.
