Violence Against Women Services Elgin County offers 24 hour safety and support through an emergency shelter, helpline, and drop-in counselling for women who have been abused and their children. We offer community based counselling too to help women manage the effects of harm experienced and children (boys & girls aged 4 to 18) heal from abuse witnessed. You can count on our services in Aylmer, St.Thomas, & West Lorne. Help is immediate, informed, respectful, and compassionate. Each year over 2,000 people find the help they seek. We are seeking a Temporary Administrative Assistant, on a fee for service contract, to join our team until April 2019. Responsibilities Provide a warm & welcoming response to women, children, colleagues, and community Ensure that safety & confidentiality of women & children is addressed with immediate connection to the counselling team Maintain a welcoming & functional physical environment for service, community partnership, & employment Provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director Abilities: Commitment to and performance aligned with the vision, mission, and values of the agency Capacity to manage confidential & sensitive issues with mature judgement & professionalism that is attentive to & aligned with the safety needs of women & children we serve & agency goals.
