Senior Researcher – Strategic Enterprise Solutions

Reporting directly to the Manager, Strategic Enterprise Solutions, the Senior Researcher will support the College's strategic research agenda by performing higher order analysis, causal modelling, and evaluation research in support of the College's Strategic Framework implementation, and other strategic initiatives.  These initiatives include business case development, business process review, enterprise project management, enterprise risk and opportunity analyses, integrated planning, measurement of various dimensions of organizational culture, student retention, student success, environmental scans, as well as other cross-college and cross-system projects.

The Senior Researcher will also participate in the development and implementation of College metrics, at the enterprise and departmental levels, intended to better enable College decision-makers and staff to align and integrate their efforts toward focused results.  

  • Requires a post-graduate degree (Masters) in Statistics or Social Sciences with advanced courses in statistics, survey design, research methodology and analytical techniques
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience conducting large statistical/analytical studies utilizing quantitative and qualitative techniques
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Advanced/expert knowledge of computers, relational databases and software such as Excel, Access, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), R, SAS, Stata to effectively organize, verify and analyze large datasets
  • High proficiency with word processing and presentation graphics to prepare reports and disseminate results to key stakeholders
  • Experience in a postsecondary environment is preferred
  • Experience working within a business solutions environment and contributing to business process reviews, business case development, and risk and opportunity analyses would be an asset
