Database Assistant

We are seeking a process-oriented systems thinker with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to support the maintenance and entry of stakeholder information in our databases to enable communication about our programs and services and evaluation of our success.

  • Assist in establishing a comprehensive, efficient, and focused process for tracking Let’s Talk Science stakeholders and performance data; recommending enhancements and acting as a resource for staff as appropriate
  • Collect, enter, update and maintain contact information and communication preferences for stakeholders in Let’s Talk Science databases
  • Support collection and entry of additional information from a variety of sources into Let’s Talk Science databases in order to track and build our relationship with the stakeholder, evaluate our success and communicate our impact
  • From start to finish coordinate the compilation of mailing lists for items such as event invitations, the annual report, holiday cards and e-newsletters
  • Generate standard scheduled and on-demand reports, exports, and queries from Let’s Talk Science databases to support the work of various teams
  • Support compilation of organization-wide key performance metrics and program metrics as needed

  • Post-secondary education
  • At  least three (3) years’ of data-related experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficient with emphasis on Word and Excel and competency in mail merges and working with and manipulating large data sets
  • Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software

This is a full-time 15 month contract, includes benefits and is based at our office in National Office in London, Ontario. The anticipated start date for this position is May 2019.
