We are currently looking for a MAINTENANCE MANAGER to join our team.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the plant maintenance team in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Responsible for managing day-to-day maintenance activities including timely troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • In addition to leading the maintenance team, a hands-on approach is required, including physical capability to troubleshoot and fix machines, assisting the team where necessary in ensuring continuous operations of all equipment.
  • Increase the plant’s operational effectiveness by working with the production department to improve product delivery times, reduce equipment failures and associated downtime. 
  • Manage and implement equipment improvement plans by placing an emphasis on shared responsibility for equipment reliability between plant floor staff and maintenance department.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
  • Develop a documented Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the maintenance team to deliver effectively.
  • Development of record keeping and tracking tools and/or software recommendations to support the PPM program.
  • Manage the maintenance team on technical best practices and establish standard policies and procedures while mentoring and leading the department.
  • Identify potential high risk downtime issues in the plant and identify/implement corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Implement a spare equipment parts strategy and maintain an adequate supply of routine and critical spare parts inventory.
  • Assist purchasing department with sourcing material and equipment to support maintenance department.  Review and approve all maintenance related purchase orders.
  • Lead the procurement of all new equipment for the plant including manufacturing equipment, forklifts, etc.
  • Understand and comply with all health and safety legislation.
  • Manage contractors on-site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
  • Respond to emergency calls for maintenance.
  • Work with finance department to develop annual maintenance and capital expenditure budgets, along with KPI’s for maintenance department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Desired:
  • Licensed Millwright with minimum 5 years maintenance supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, MOL and ESA is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with repetitive and high attention to detail tasks
  • Knowledge of health and safety and employment legislation.
  • Motivation/Commitment, adaptability and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • A real team player, willing to assist others in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
