In an internal customer-centric HR model, the Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator will provide HR support to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner (SHRBP) and the colleagues within dedicated divisions within Jones Packaging Inc. as well as process payroll and provide benefits administration to all employees of Jones Packaging Inc.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment initiatives, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, participating in interviews, preparing offer letters, attending job fairs, etc.
Facilitate internal recruitment and transfers including job postings, coordination of interviews, preparing offer letters, ensuring HRIS and corporate systems are updated
Coordinate employee on-boarding including preparing welcome packages, facilitating on-boarding and orientation
Assist with employee relations matters; act as the first point of contact for employees for any HR related enquiries, escalating situations to the SHRBP when appropriate
Prepare various HR reports including turnover, headcount, vacancies, vacations
Assist with various HR initiatives and projects
Maintain the HR policy and procedure manual
Process weekly payroll and payroll administration within the HRIS, including; new hire setup, status changes, salary changes, terminations, ROEs, etc.
Process benefit and pension administration
Process payments for source deductions and benefits provider
Support short term disability (STD) and long term disability (LTD) claims coordination with benefits provider
Key qualifications Experience and Education (diploma, degree, or professional designation):
University Degree or College Diploma in Business or Human Resources or a related field, ideally working towards CHRP/CHRL
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 1 year of payroll experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Technical skills: HRIS and payroll software, Microsoft office suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service mindset and a proactive approach
Highly organized, able to manage multiple deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times, high level of integrity
Professional, friendly, ability to build relationships
