Job Description

Position Summary 

Research Psychologists Press (RPP, or SIGMA Assessment Systems, Inc.) is looking for a Programmer to join our IT team. The role involves some IT Support Technician responsibilities, in addition to programming and developing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day internal IT issues: identifying system improvements; monitoring systems; and installing and configuring systems. The candidate will take on increasing levels of software development tasks to maintain and upgrade our web platforms and other software. 

The successful candidate will do the following: 

  • Support our custom web sites and other software 

  • Support our marketing website (WordPress) 

  • Work with external clients on technical issues 

  • Assist with internal I.T. issues (Email, Desktops, Laptops, security) 

  • Maintain local servers and backups 


  • Computer-related diploma or degree from an accredited post-secondary school 

  • Experience with most or all of .NET, ASP.Net, Visual C#, HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server 

  • Experience with Windows Server 2008-2016 (IIS, file and network security, scripting) 

  • Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Windows /7/10  

  • High level of skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word but also Outlook 

  • Experience with cloud solutions like Microsoft Office 365 (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams) 

  • Knowledge of network protocols (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, LAN and WAN, VPN), server peripheral hardware (UPS, backup drives, KVM) and monitoring (ServersAlive) 


  • Microsoft Azure experience 

  • Understanding of Delphi/Pascal 

  • Coding skills and experience with software development 

  • Able to work with project and team development tools (Zoho, SVN) 


  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written 

  • Ability to work well with people, including all levels of staff, management, and customers 

  • Customer service skills 

  • Ability to work independently and suggest creative improvements 

  • Able to pick up new coding languages 

  • Flexibility to prioritize and move between tasks, well-organized 

  • Objectivity, and openness to other views; able to give and welcome feedback
