Position:  Project Manager
Status:    Permanent, Full Time

The London Police Service is located in southwestern Ontario, Canada. We have over 800 members (officers and civilians) and we proudly serve over 380,000 residents in the City of London. Accountable to the Director, Information, Communication, and Technology Branch, the Project Manager is responsible for:
 
  • Defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders;
  • Effectively communicating project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis;
  • Setting and managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders;
  • Planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines, deliverables, and milestones using appropriate tools;
  • Determining the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyzing results, and troubleshooting problem areas;
  • Defining project success criteria and disseminating them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle;
  • Conducting project post mortems and creating a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements;
  • Developing best practices and tools for project execution and management;
  • Estimating the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals;
  • Drafting and submitting budget proposals, and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary;
  • Determining and assessing the need for additional staff and/or consultants and making the appropriate project team recruitment if necessary during the project cycle;
  • Developing full scale project plans and associated communications documents;
  • Working with supervisors to assign tasks and responsibilities to appropriate members;
  • Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team;
  • Identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path;
  • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations;
  • Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential issues, and devising contingency plans;
  • Coaching, mentoring, and motivating project team members and contractors, and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work;
  • Building, developing, and growing business relationships that are vital to the success of the project; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned within the core competencies.


Requirements
  • 3 year post-secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • 5 years of project management experience in a mid to large scale enterprise environment
  • Technical project management experience an asset


Salary:  $77,227 - $93,386
