Summary of position
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is accountable for accurate processing of two payrolls covering three divisions, while maintaining our internal Human Resources Information System. In addition to payroll, this position will manage benefit administration ensuring our colleagues are set up with their elected choices, processing change requests, and managing our benefit program in partnerships with our benefit provider.

Here are some the different activities you'll be asked to do:
Process a centralized payroll for hourly & salaried employees using UltiPro
Check and verify accuracy of all changes and updates entered into the HRIS
Run bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for audits and any adhoc reports requested by the designated leaders or HR department
Responds to inquiries from leaders, colleagues, and external agencies regarding payroll and benefit related matters
Administration of group benefits plan and retirement savings plans; enquiries, enrolments, cancellations and amendments
Maintain HR data integrity and accuracy in the Human Resources Information System (UltiPro)
Prepare source deductions, WSIB/government remittances, and non-regular payments
Challenge the status quo, recommending opportunities for improved processes
If you you’ve got:
A degree or diploma in accounting, payroll, human resources
A few years of experience with processing payroll and/or benefit administration
Exceptional detail orientation and organizational skills
The ability to handle deadlines
Strong communication skills and internal customer service skills
