Position Description:
The Community Impact Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects, programs, and activities related to youth and donor engagement.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Canada Life Youth United program
  • Coordinate United Way speakers bureau, including recruitment, training and booking volunteer speakers
  • Develop and implement volunteer activities for corporate workplace partners
  • Develop and implement events and activities that increase public understanding of social challenges facing our region
  • Recruit, train, support and recognize volunteers
  • Interact with community organizations to encourage their involvement in events and programs
  • Work with the Resource Development and Community Impact teams to coordinate the development of activities for donors and youth
  • Support meetings and events, including scheduling, logistics, venue, catering and note taking
  • Assist with digital and print communications as needed
  • Provide backup support for reception
  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure the safe and effective operations of the organization
Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • College diploma or University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field is an asset
  • Minimum of one year of experience in program coordination required
  • Proven experience and skill in relationship building and collaboration
  • Experience coordinating and managing volunteers
  • Community minded individual who is progressive, innovative and dedicated
  • Ability to adapt and find creative solutions in a changing work environment with multiple deadlines and pressures
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, web applications and social media
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to flex work schedule to attend meetings and special events which occur before or after regular office hours
  • Adhere to confidentiality guidelines as outlined by United Way Elgin Middlesex
