Business Liaison, Full-time

Youth Opportunities Unlimited is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Business Liaison with the Career Services Team. Qualified candidates possess exceptional communication and organization skills, a high degree of initiative, work well in a fast paced and dynamic environment and hold values that match our corporate vision and values.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary source of information for YOU programs and services related to businesses’ needs
  • Develop strategies with businesses throughout London to create opportunities for youth engaged in YOU programming
  • Promote YOU’s Social Enterprise products to businesses in London & Middlesex
  • Develop and maintain an active network that will offer youth job placements, training opportunities and participation in YOU related initiatives
  • Outreach to employers to identify opportunities in the hidden job market
  • Match youth with employment placement opportunities and allocate corresponding financial incentives for employers
  • Engage participants and employers as appropriate in developing, monitoring, modifying and evaluating placements to facilitate success
  • Provide human resources support to meet the hiring needs of employers
  • Provide intake, assessment and case management services when needed
  • Participate in local service clubs and other networking activities
  • Coordinate, host and facilitate special events or workshops for employers, community partners and youth

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in human/social services or career development or sales and marketing
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth, including youth with multiple barriers to employment
  • Ability to build relationships, negotiate, persuade, manage conflict and work with diverse clients
  • Proficiency with office equipment including computer use, Microsoft applications, and file management systems
  • Ability to perform data entry tasks and file management with accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet targets and meet strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of London labour market and community supports for young people
  • Ability to establish rapport with various stakeholders to create engagement with YOU and evoke passion for youth advancement and growth
  • Access to own transportation required
