Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for providing administrative support for the Human Resources/Payroll team, with an emphasis on postings, document preparation, maintaining records and data, benefit/pension plan administration, and other administrative duties.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide a full spectrum of administrative support functions to the Human Resources team: preparing, collating, inputting and storing documents; maintaining department files, preparing reports, statistics and data; collating training material and onboarding packages.
• Prepare job postings, maintain records of postings, applicants and database, liaise with hiring managers, prepare offer letters, follow-up with payroll and assist with on-boarding as required.
• Maintain accurate internal and carrier enrollment records of all standard and optional benefit and pension plans and co-ordinate all related program administration and updates with carrier and payroll records. Audit data and complete group benefit invoice reconciliations. Maintain inventory of supplies and booklets and respond to employee inquiries. 
• Participate in HR/payroll cross-functional activities and ad hoc projects as required. 

Experience & Qualifications:

• Diploma or post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management.
• 1-3 years’ related experience providing Human Resources administrative support.
• Proven accuracy and attention to detail; excellent writing and proofreading skills are a must.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and understand electronic processes. 
• Experience with database management software and internet-based recruiting processes.
• Computer proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). 
• Knowledge of employment standards and other employment related legislation. 
• Experience in benefit administration and a thorough understanding of recruiting processes .
• Customer-service focused; demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-directed and team-oriented; very organized; able to multi-task and manage priorities.
• Good problem-solving skills, with a professional manner and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
