Job Description

Mission Services of London, a Christian faith based, not-for-profit social service agency, seeks a Permanent, Full-Time Donor Relations Assistant. This position will report to the Director of Development & Communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
To provide support to the Development Team by executing and reporting back on a number of telephone fundraising and stewardship programs, including monthly donor solicitation, asks for fundraising events/campaigns, donor thank you calls, etc. In addition, this role will:
  • Utilize provided scripts to engage donor prospects on provided and self-researched lists 
  • Enter call and other data into the Raiser’s Edge database, noting any changes to records
  • Maintain a record of action items that arise from telephone interactions and follow up directly, or communicate to the rest of the Development team about follow-up that they will need to do as appropriate
  • Prepare statistical reports pertaining to telephone programs and suggest potential changes that could be made to increase effectiveness and/or efficiency of those programs
  • Support some of the gift processing, including data entry during peak donation periods and follow up with recurring donors to update credit card information on file, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining database by linking relationships, populating tabs with research and first-hand information, including tracking of relevant obituary information
  • Coordinate and/or assist with various in-house mailings, and perform other administrative tasks as needed
  • Assist with Development events logistics (e.g. auction item pick-up; event set-up, tear-down, transporting of materials, greeting, distribution of information packages, etc.) and coordinate some delegated aspects of the Fall Banquet silent auction and Coldest Night of the Year sponsorship efforts

  • Secondary School Diploma 
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, databases/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Internet
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (donor database) software an asset
  • Excellent team, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Comfortable placing outbound calls (telecommunication experience an asset)

  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle

Position Details:
  • Permanent full-time (40 hours/week) position
  • Shifts:  Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with the expectation of working some evenings and weekends as required
