Job Description

Ecopower Inc. continues to experience exceptional growth and requires a purchasing agent to work with its logistics, production, administrative and sales systems to assist in sourcing & onboarding supplier products globally. You are an expert at obtaining, verifying, funding and continuously managing and improving purchasing of goods. Working with an excellent fulfillment team you will master our Inventory Management Software thus providing a clear picture of 90-day inventory requirements and the present needs of the Quick Ship Program from future sales (forecasting) vs past sales.

Responsibilities and Duties, not limited to:

  • Assisting in sourcing and on-boarding new product in conjunction with our head buyer
  • Managing global suppliers, negotiating pricing, placing orders for items required
  • Developing relationships and setting up beneficial supplier agreements
  • Demonstrate strong negotiating skills and resourcefulness when procuring materials
  • Expediting inbound materials when required with your fulfillment team
  • Coordinating all inbound orders with our logistics department & freight forwarders via air, sea, rail and land transport to meet individual project order & stocking requirements
  • Ensures the preservation, organization, storage, cleanliness, and proper identification of inventory items in a timely manner
  • Receiving, stocking supervision in conjunction with the logistics and production departments
  • Additional projects as required
  • Negotiate contracts with our suppliers and implementing UPC codes on all products will be top 2 projects
  • Assisting with overseeing the New Product Onboarding team to bring on new products in a timely manner with the head buyer.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Very detail orientated, with focus on purchasing, material logistics, compliance development and implementation
  • Must be comfortable in a smaller, dynamic work environment where at times you need to wear different “hats”. This is not a position for someone wanting a large corporate environment
  • Proven cost reduction skills demonstrated in the workplace
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office apps
  • Ability to manage a budget to meet operational goals and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Highly organized
  • Quickly picks up new software and eager to learn, types min 60 wpm
  • Team player

Qualifications and Skills Not Required but Beneficial:

  • A related post-secondary completed or partially completed diploma or degree would be preferred
  • Experience in global procurement would be highly beneficial
  • MS Dynamics experience
