Job Description

HCL Logistics Inc. is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst, reporting to the Vice-President. The successful candidate will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing the financial reporting of the business. The analyst must be interested in, and capable of, fulfilling a wide variety of accounting related duties efficiently and effectively. We are looking to fill this full-time position immediately.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Analyze and communicate actual financial and operational performance
•    Assist with the development of monthly financial forecasts and annual budgets
•    Analyze various costs vs budgets for construction projects, and ongoing operations to ensure accuracy. This includes coding, HST implications, and variance investigations 
•    Develop business reporting, supporting business reviews with insightful analysis, and improving forecast capabilities
•    Recommend changes in analysis and budgetary methods and procedures; analyzes the impact of various corporate projects and transactions
•    Prepare year end financials, month end close requirements, including review of general ledger account reconciliations.  
•    Oversee, and provide assistance to, accounting staff members with regards to core procedures and responsibilities, ensuring that adequate communication and supervision is received, and development objectives are attained.
•    General accounting duties, as assigned, which may include: processing journal entries, account reconciliations and other accounting related procedures as required
•    Bookkeeping to Trial Balance

Skills and Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting and/or Finance)
•    CGA/CPA Designation preferred but not required
•    Strong attention to detail and strong analytical skills required
•    Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
•    Strong sense of accountability and ownership of the role, to meet deliverables on deadlines
•    Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement preparation
•    Expert level proficiency in MS Excel
•    Self-motivated, ability to multi-task, adaptable, comfortable working in a changing environment
•    Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Software – Microsoft Navision or similar)
