Position Title International Student Graduate Internship- Research Assistant
Position Type Temporary - Full Time

Summary of Duties This position will report to two different areas of Neighbourhood Strategic Initiatives and Funding – Neighbourhood and Community Initiatives and Neighbourhood Development and Support. The successful candidate will be working in a team to support the development of culturally relevant, inclusive (i.e. Francophone, Indigenous, LGBT+, newcomers, etc.) and responsive programs and services in neighbourhoods and the child care and early years’ service system.
Work Performed
• Conduct research to inform program delivery
• Collect data, analyse data, and write reports
• Develop promotional materials
• Provide input into the survey development and other engagement tools
• Analyze policy and practices with an equity lens
• Develop workshops for a variety of audiences both internal to the City of London and external
• Create and administer processes to evaluate programs and strategies including the London Strengthening Neighbourhoods Strategy
• Investigate and conduct a journey mapping exercise to better understand families experience in the child care and early years’ service system
• Support the City wide plans under Neighbourhood Strategic Initiatives and Funding to better coordinate and leverage resources
• Ensure all City of London policies and practices are followed
Eligibility under the City of London International Student Graduate Internship Program as follows:
• Have been an international student that has graduated within the last year from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada, and
• Currently hold valid Post-Graduate Work Permit to be legally entitled to work in Canada, and
• Have an English language benchmark of level 6 or above.
• Post-secondary graduate from an educational program related to Public Administration, Social Sciences, or Business
• Demonstrated computer skills (E.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated research skills
• Knowledge of community organizations and resources
• Previous relevant experience in evaluation and program development an asset
• Ability to speak other languages an asset
• Previous experience working with equity and inclusion an asset
Compensation Range $15.95 per hour
Other Information This position is for a duration of up to 20 weeks.
