Summary of position
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the safe operation of all material handling equipment for the purpose of receiving, storing and shipping of raw materials (including chemicals and waste) and finished goods, and staging raw materials for production and placing finished goods from production into the appropriate warehouse location.  Flexible hours and/or staggered hours of work may be assigned dependent on departmental needs.

Here are some the different activities you'll be asked to do:
  • Pick orders to customer needs on a daily basis or as required
  • Load trucks with all outgoing material and finished goods, ensure the shipping transactions are accurately updated in SAP.  Prepare shipping documents or transfers as required
  • Enter material from Finishing department into the warehouse, either stored for inventory or staged for release to customer or transfer to the Jones Distribution Centre
  • Unload, receive and store goods and materials as required, ensure the receiving transactions are accurately updated in SAP. This is to include chemicals for storage.
  • Accurately complete and report to accounting the raw material cycle counts on a daily basis
  • Monitor board, corrugate and finished goods inventory and advise Leader of any slow moving or unusual quantities on hand
  • Load scrap skids for recycling
  • Ensure all courier pick-ups are processed as required and available for pick-up at the designated time
  • Operate guillotine to cut board stock or corrugate as required by Production
  • Warehouse housekeeping

If you've got:
  • A High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years previous forklift and material handling work experience within a Shipping Warehouse in a Manufacturing facility, preferably with Deep Reach experience (preferably within a printing/packaging industry)
  • Hold a Fork-lift and Deep Reach Truck License
  • Experience using a clamp truck
