General ledger maintenance including preparation of journal entries, balancing and reconciliation of various accounts and sub-ledgers.
Work with the Community Services department in preparation and distribution of invoices and assist in daily financial processes associated with rentals, programs and canteen.
Assist with analysis, research, and reporting of finance policies, procedures and best practices.
As required, provide front counter coverage including: general information to the public (either by phone or in person) accepting payments and assisting staff.
Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
1 years’ experience, preferably in a municipal setting
Sound working knowledge of general accounting practices, procedures and analysis in a computerized accounting environment.
Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills applicable for various financial and accounting functions
Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office applications with intermediate proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and with members of the public, staff, and committee members.
