What is a Manager, Products and Services? The Manager, Products & Services will play an important role in driving forward GoodLife’s Technology & Innovation strategy and product roadmap by building, managing and mentoring product teams delivering services that provide WOW experiences to our Members and Associates. This role will be responsible for managing the products and services, and their overall health, effectiveness and objectives, while partnering closely with stakeholders representing all aspects of the business to evolve the Member and Associate digital experiences. As a leader of the product teams, you deeply understand Associates and Members and are the bridge between business and technology to design experiences users will love. As an experienced technical leader with a proven track record of managing development teams, innovation portfolios and product lifecycles, you will have a deep understanding of digital insights and trends affecting the fitness industry and strong points of view on how to accelerate solution development. You will foster a positive working culture of continuous improvement, modernized delivery and rapid go-to-market product innovation. The Manager will work in a highly dynamic, fast changing, and fluid environment.
What will you be doing?
Working with teams of developers, product owners, researchers and deep technical SMEs through solution build and launch, supporting Proof of Concepts, design, strategy and commercialization with researched innovation insights.
Work in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful development, integration and implementation of features.
Challenge Agile teams to achieve outcomes on time, scope and budget; monitor the outcomes and experience of launched features and iterate where required, with a focus on speed to market, reliability and quality.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders (e.g. Marketing) to launch new digital experiences internally and externally.
Establish and analyze metrics and measures to inform success of solutions.
Assess the market through solid research and analysis of trends and technologies that could directly and indirectly impact the future of health & fitness.
Identify and evaluate new segments, areas, sectors, and opportunities for GoodLife to focus on for product development.
Support R&D for the department in order to lead GoodLife through the development of POCs for new services and products.
Manage a portfolio of innovation initiatives with the intention of developing and managing programs that are of the highest strategic value for GoodLife.
Do you have what it takes?
Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
4-5 years of progressive experience in product management, development and innovation, with at least 2+ years working in an agile environment.
University background in either computer science, engineering, or related fields of study.
An analytical, logical, and strategic thinker that is able to clearly and concisely articulate complex ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
An excellent communicator that can express their views while also taking an objective approach.
A passion for the fitness industry and the drive to identify, explore and deliver new opportunities for GoodLife.
A results-oriented problem solver that thinks outside of the box and can challenge constraints.
A strong collaborator that can build and maintain great working relationships, internally and externally.
A customer-oriented mindset with the ability to understand and balance multiple stakeholder needs and impacts.
Business / technical knowledge of the Canadian health and fitness landscape.
