You will use your critical thinking skills and strong attention to detail to maintain accurate accounting records, processing payments in accordance with company policies and procedures. Your acumen for financial details is essential as you confirm data entry is complete and balanced and that appropriate tax charges have been applied. You will liaise with vendors and employees concerning accounts payable requests, resolving all inquiries within specified timelines. In this role, your responsiveness to the financial needs of others will be highly valued and appreciated.

You will process external invoices, internal expense reports and recurring monthly charges for payment as per company policy, taking advantage of supplier discounts and avoiding penalties. You will accurately prepare allocation/charge out and accrual journal entries in a timely manner, ensuring correct coding and methodology. You will print and record the claims cheque run within 1 business day of release and prepare daily bank deposits in accordance with documented Accounting procedures. You will obtain authorization from the required department managers and maintain appropriate back up information and historical records on file.

There is a lot to learn and always something to do, you must give it time. It is OK if you do not know everything, someone on our experienced team will know the answer. On breaks you can go outside, grab lunch, or just relax.

  • 2 year Community College Diploma in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of prior experience
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Dedicated quiet office space in your home with high-speed internet
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English and French is an asset
