Position Description:        Crisis & Outreach Clinician
                                              Part-Time Contract up to 12 months, with possibility of extension 

Anticipated Start Date:     September 2021

Position Summary:

Working within a multi-disciplinary team framework throughout Oxford County, the Clinician will provide crisis & outreach support to individuals who contact or are referred to Program and Counselling support and to those attending CMHA Oxford’s Walk-In Counselling Services.

Qualifications:

  • RPN, RN, OT, BSW or MSW required
  • Currently registered or in the process of registering with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is required, as per the Collective Agreement
  • Extensive knowledge of Recovery principles
  • Knowledge of community services in Oxford County
  • Experience with treatment of addictions
  • Ability to develop short-term treatment plans in conjunction with the individual
  • Ability to advocate for and coordinate service access with clients
  • Crisis Management/Intervention Skills
  • Knowledge of Narrative Practices in Single session therapy
  • Knowledge of the Recovery model
  • Knowledge of attributes of serious mental illness and pharmaceuticals used in the treatment of mental illness
  • Knowledge of Legal system
  • Experience working with individuals with an ABI or Development Disability
  • Current CPR and First  Aid certification
  • A valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle
  • Computers skills

Hours of Work: Days and evenings

 Rate of Pay: $31.37/hour with 9% in lieu of benefits
