Job Description

Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 9,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time (25 hours per week), Program Assistant in Facility Resources. The designated office location for this new position is London. This position is expected to begin in October 2021.

The usual hours of work will be 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. It is preferred that the successful candidate have some flexibility to work additional hours as required, up to 37.5 hours per week.

  • As a member of the Reception team, provide back-up reception desk coverage daily, greet and welcome families during peak times as part of entry procedures during Covid-19,  and support all other Reception processes and procedures;
  • Provide an active offer of service in French;
  • Administer the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory for the organization;
  • Manage inventory of office and facility supplies for the FR team;
  • Organize and maintain therapy resources in shared spaces and support volunteers;
  • Organize resources in waiting room areas, and produce and maintain organizational information posted throughout the Centre;
  • Support other programs with materials and resource preparation on a project request basis;
  • Support room booking functions and occasional room setup in cooperation with FR team;
  • Provide back-up coverage to Equipment & Information Resources
  • Minimum 1 year college diploma in an administrative studies program;
  • Relevant administrative and reception experience; also experience with resource and materials preparation, and with managing an inventory;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong customer service skills and a professional and friendly manner with visitors, clients, volunteers, and staff;  
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive, and acclimatize quickly to new situations;
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and balance a number of tasks;
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 2010, including Word, Excel,  Access;
  • Exercise mature judgment and able to work with minimum supervision;
  • Proficiency in French at the novice/elementary level or above is preferred.
