Position – Animal Imaging Supervisor Neighbourhood Pet Clinic in London, ON is seeking an experienced Animal Imaging Supervisor to join our diagnostic imaging team.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include:
Providing diagnostic veterinarian imaging acquisition services to review medical cases
Performing radiographic studies that will provide accurate images to assist in the diagnosis and care plan of the case
Assisting with the diagnosis and plan of care for the animal by consulting with the veterinarians
Overseeing the process of radiographic studies and ensure that the best positioning and radiographic techniques are followed and guarantee that the radiation safety guidelines are adhered to
Performing ultrasound studies in small domestic animals and providing consultation to the veterinarians regarding diagnostic imaging findings and making suggestions on individualized plan of care for the animal
Consulting with the veterinarians about diagnostic imaging finding and what to do with the findings
Writing reports with a summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations
Administering point of care diagnostic imaging studies (radiographs and ultrasound) for emergency cases
Sharing expertise with Neighbourhood Pet Clinic team members and providing training and guidance to the Medical Radiation technologist
Consulting with DVM’s and support medical staff about the importance of keeping a strict and organized diagnostic and therapeutic approach to individual
Keeping up to date diagnostic imaging equipment maintenance schedule and in good working order
Responding to email inquiries from neighbours, other team members, and outside vendors
Using internal software (ImproMed) to review patient files and update details if needed.
Traveling within all locations to ensure best practices are adhered to
Assisting during appointment when needed
Job Skills Required:
Diploma in specialized training in diagnostic imaging related to domestic animals or related
Two (2) years of experience working with animal diagnostic imaging / ultrasound and radiology
Veterinary and analytical skills
Strong computer skills and experience using databases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of attention to detail and organization
Excellent teamwork abilities
Demonstrated experience helping and supporting others
Ability to handle conflicts and diffuse situations
Ability to multi-task and complete work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to approach work with a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn new skills
Patient, thorough, organized, and flexible
High level of initiative and excellent interpersonal skills
Process oriented and excellent spatial recognition
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Position is full time, consisting of approximately 37-42 hours per week, at an hourly rate of $24-34.00/hr, exclusive of benefits and bonuses.
