Summer Student - Community Outreach and Maintenance

This summer job runs from July 4 to August 26, 2022 for 35 hours a week, normally Monday to Friday. There may also be some evening work.  Pay is $17.50 an hour plus vacation pay. The work location in Edmonton, is at Zion Baptist Church of Kensington at 11908-132 Avenue. It is located on a major bus line.

The successful applicant will be responsible to the church Council and will provide a time sheet each month end to the church Treasurer, Gordon Wilkinson.

Job duties follow: 

…Helping prepare and run Vacation Bible School program for the church: Ages 6-12

…Work on updating church directory

…General office work

…Participate in meetings with Pastoral team

…Cut the lawn, trim the edges and trim the hedges and shrubs

…Wash windows and other cleaning as assigned

…General maintenance of the church building

…Painting as requested

…Provide yard work assistance to church members, local seniors and community groups as

   coordinated through the Council

…Other duties as assigned

…Must have an interest in children and working with them

…Must possess team leadership skills and the responsibility of assisting with church ministries

…Must also be capable of showing initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision

…Must have computer skills: especially Word, Excel and Outlook

…Must have some knowledge of operating yard maintenance equipment

All PPE will be provided
