Are you looking for a Summer Job that helps motivate children to read in a fun, creative and safe environment for learning? London Public Library has openings for the summer as a:

SUMMER LITERACY FACILITATOR
SUMMER CONTRACT: JULY 2 - AUGUST 23, 2024

London Public Library welcomes applications from qualified candidates to fill the role of Summer Literacy Facilitators in support of our literacy initiatives relating to children in our Library branches located throughout the London community. These summer positions are for 35 hours per week and pay $18.00 per hour.

Primary responsibilities include: Planning and providing one-on-one reading support to children currently in grades 1-7 who are having difficulties reading, as well as participating in the preparation of literacy celebration events. Selected candidates will be required to maintain records and statistics, monitor supplies, organize registrations and schedule meetings. Three library locations will provide reading support in French; written and oral fluency in French and English will be required for the successful applicant at this location.

Applicants must:
  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
  • be legally entitled to work according to relevant Ontario legislation and regulations and;
  • not be working 30 hours or more per week at another job.
