As partner hospitals, Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll (AHI) and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH) are breaking new ground in the region for delivering progressive, high quality healthcare within an integrated team of leaders and a Joint Board of Directors. Alexandra Hospital has served Ingersoll and the surrounding area for over 100 years. Over the years services provided have changed and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the population providing the highest standards of quality care to patients and families. Since 1925, Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital has been committed to its community and surrounding areas providing exceptional patient care close to home. Together the annual operating budget is approximate $45 million.

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President, Finance has the dynamic responsibility of providing operational leadership for AHI and TDMH to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. You will also be responsible for supporting our growth initiatives while working to implement our overall organizational strategy that supports high quality patient care thought the hospitals. The COO, VP Finance is responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. You are responsible to create and maintain a balanced budget and ensure the organizations are positioned financially to meet the growing healthcare needs of the communities they serve. You will orchestrate and implement new business strategies to enhance revenues and oversee partnerships and related real estate.

Qualification and Skills

You will have strong team-building skill and a proven background in building business and leading transformation initiatives to drive a culture of performance and operational excellence with significant finance experience.

The preferred candidate will have strong working knowledge of hospital master planning and capital redevelopment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in health care, facility operations and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration or related filed.
  • CPA designated is preferred.
  • Masters in Business Administration preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience managing financial operations, management systems, and interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model in the healthcare industry
  • Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Sound knowledge of quality improvement principles.
  • Highly developed communication, organizational, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to mange change effectively and coach and mentor others, rewarding achievement and success.
  • Innovative critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and problem solve.
  • Extensive experience building and leading teams with the ability to develop loyalty and commitment in others by articulating an appealing vision for the future, communicating high expectations, developing and mentoring direct reports, and setting an example in one’s own behavior
  • Credibility earned through strong track record for bias for action, “can-do” attitude, delivery and results.
  • Capable of executing short-term (tactical) and long term (strategic) plans.
  • Develop a process for operational reporting to various internal and external stakeholders that leverages industry best practices for metrics, trackers and scorecards that facilitate team accountability to continuously improving results.
