Job Description

 

The IT Support Technician, Network and Security position will report to the Manager, Network and Security at the corporate offices of Trudell Medical Limited. This position will assist in providing an efficient and secure IT infrastructure for the Trudell Medical Group (TMG) of companies.

The IT Department at Trudell Medical Limited has overall responsibility for the Network and Security environment for all of the Company's subsidiaries including the USA.  Each subsidiary has a unique business environment including distribution, manufacturing, services and corporate accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Microsoft Active Directory topology
  • Support Microsoft Exchange
  • Support Desktop PCs, Laptops, Smartphones and HPE servers
  • Support Wired and Wireless Infrastructure
  • Support Office 365 applications
  • Provide I.T. Training when onboarding new employees during orientation
  • Monitor and maintain Management Consoles for AntiVirus, Spam, WSUS and System Center
  • Develop, document and establish standards for hardware purchases (i.e., workstations, laptops, servers, mobile devices, multifunction printers etc.)
  • Maintain asset tracking for hardware and software licensing
  • Maintain Virtual Server infrastructure utilizing HA technology such as Replicas
  • Assist operating units in deploying Linux virtual machines
  • Maintain and test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Manage MDM infrastructure
  • Assist in VOIP phone rollouts
  • Support in firewall and proxy server related issues
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), or equivalent, designation
  • Post-secondary diploma in I.T. with a concentration in networking
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Server, Exchange Server and Active Directory
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP servers
  • Experience with Firewalls and Proxy servers
  • Experience with Virtualization
  • Experience with enterprise-grade network switches
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products including Office 365 and Visio for creating network diagrams
  • Experience with Enterprise-grade Hardware
  • Experience with switches and routers in a wireless, copper and fiber environment
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM)
  • Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with end-users, peers, managers and vendors
  • Proven communication skills: oral and written. Ability to effectively respond to software problem calls whether in person or remotely.
  • Ability to collect business requirements and create and/or apply IT solutions
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications
