The SDC in London, Ontario provides tax return preparation and other compliance services in support of our Canadian national practice.   Using technology, standardized processes, and best practices, we deliver the highest quality services to our clients. The Opportunity: Tax Admin Coordinator, Service Delivery Center

Based in London and reporting to the SDC Administration Team Lead, the primary role of the Tax Admin Coordinator is to oversee a team of Tax Process Specialists who support the tax compliance process by assembling the documents required to prepare personal and corporate tax returns and managing administrative functions throughout the year.  Under the guidance of the SDC Administration Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for the overall supervision and development of staff within your team. The coordinator will be the key contact between the local offices and SDC teams.  As the SDC services all Canadian time zones, we are looking for individuals who are open and available for work between the hours of 8:00am EST and 8:00pm EST. (Specific shifts may vary, weekend work may be necessary during peak seasons).


Provide effective coaching and guidance to team by:

  • Encouraging productivity and performance improvement, providing clear expectations on output and quality

  • Supporting development by identifying skill gaps and training needs

  • Monitoring quality of work and assigned team activities to ensure quality standards are met

  • Providing regular reports on team/individual performance

  • Escalate/Communicate challenges and/or issues with recommended resolution to SDC Administration Team Lead

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert/Point of escalation to local offices on admin processes; communicating as required

  • Assist in development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

  • Serve as a Tax Process Specialist team member and backup for additional engagements and projects

  • Partner with the SDC Resource team and other SDC Coordinators to monitor workflow and workload to ensure resources are allocated appropriately during peak/non peak periods

  • Coordinate and facilitate team huddles and meetings

  • Participate in the selection, placement and training of new staff members

  • Ensure employee scheduling is optimal to meet busy season demands

  • Develop, assess and evaluate Employee performance, conduct performance reviews

  • Create and foster a cohesive team and promote a positive work environment


  • Proven track record (1+ years of experience) of successfully coordinating a large volume of administration process

  • 2 + years’ experience leading a team, proven ability to coach and mentor others

  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and team-building skills and the ability to create consensus among cross functional teams and leaders

  • Ability to successfully balance competing priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify problems and implement solutions

  • Must be available to work flexible hours determined by the needs of the department which may include weekends, nights and holidays during peak periods

  • Detail is your first, last and middle name; you are extremely organized and have the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work and work effectively under extremely tight deadlines

  • Grace under pressure; you are the one who always keeps your cool with a “Can-Do” attitude, even as the pace speeds up. You are able to operate within tight deadlines, prioritizing work and multi-tasking no matter what the task or how fast the pace

  • Your approach is kind but firm. As subject matter expert, you make your recommendations with confidence and your diplomatic approach is very rarely met with resistance

  • You are super responsive and have the ability to deal with all staff, at all levels

  • You have solid communications skills with the ability to confidently communicate with all levels of staff as well as Tax authorities

  • You have strong initiative, self-motivation, good judgment and the ability to creatively solve problems

  • Respect for the confidential and sensitive nature of the information that is a daily aspect of the role

  • Speaking French would be an asset but is not a requirement
