Are you interested in Ontario politics? Are you a recent university graduate? The Ontario Legislature Internship Program (OLIP) is a 10-month, non-partisan, paid internship offered to recent university graduates.   The Ontario Legislature Internship Programme was established in 1975 and is administered by the Canadian Political Science Association (CPSA) and supported by a financial grant from the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. OLIP is a non-partisan organization and is not associated with the Government of Ontario or with any political party.   The Programme is designed to provide backbench Members of Provincial Parliament with highly qualified staff. In addition to providing practical experience in the daily workings of the Ontario Legislature, OLIP provides interns the opportunity to supplement their university training through regular academic discussions and by writing an academic paper on a topic of their choice. Responsibilities General ledger maintenance including preparation of journal entries, balancing and reconciliation of various accounts and sub-ledgers. Work with the Community Services department in preparation and distribution of invoices and assist in daily financial processes associated with rentals, programs and canteen. Assist with analysis, research, and reporting of finance policies, procedures and best practices. As required, provide front counter coverage including: general information to the public (either by phone or in person) accepting payments and assisting staff.
