As we continue to grow, we have a need for the following position: Date: January 2020 Position: Assistant Day Camp Director Location: Bostwick Community Centre, YMCA & Library Start Date: May 2020 Compensation: $15.25/hour Responsibilities: Implement daily administrative requirements Assist Director with day to day operations Assist with the preparation, delivery and evaluation of staff training Support and motivate staff as part of a team plan set out by the Manager of Child, Youth & Families Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and dedication in preparing and executing programs Overall coordination of daily administration of day camp program Assist with extended care Oversee coordination of camp logistics Be responsive to diverse cultural heritage, values and individual experiences Provide leadership to all staff trainings and meetings Address parent concerns and liaison those concerns to the Director Supporting and promoting the YMCA core values Qualifications & Experience: Experience in day or residential camp in positions with progressive leadership and responsibility Experience in day or residential camp programming Minimum 3 years experience working with Children and Youth Excellent communication and leadership skills Current CPR, Standard First Aid & AED Current Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sectors Competencies: A Child and Youth focus Commits to assisting growth and development among children and youth Decision Making Integrates logic, intuition and sound judgment to analyze information to identify greatest opportunities, make sound decisions and solve problems. Communication Communicates in a thorough, clear and timely manner and supports information sharing and goal achievement across the YMCA Quality Results Demonstrates and fosters a strong commitment to achieving goals in a manner that provides quality experiences.
