Accounting Assistant

DESCRIPTION: Japanese Automotive Parts Manufacturer in St. Thomas seeks a qualified Accounting Assistant to assist with processing of the company’s A/P, and to perform administration and clerical functions in an entry level position. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Reporting to the Assistant Accounting Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with the entry and processing of documents pertaining to the Accounting Department.  Key secondary duties include assisting with data entry, purchasing of indirect materials and completing other administrative functions as required.  RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary role of the Accounting Assistant is to provide functional and administrative support to the Accounting Department through the assistance and completion of various Accounting related tasks, and providing departmental support through the execution of other related duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ACCOUNTING Assists with matching invoices to corresponding purchase orders and packing slips Assists with processing vendor invoices by coding and inputting them into Accounting system for payment Assists in entering direct materials (steel, component parts) received into Production Control system Assists with processing of invoicing related to all direct materials received (steel, component parts) Assists with data inputting relating to weekly Surface Treatment shipments and subsequent receiving’s into Production Control system Assists with matching Surface Treatment packing slips to shipment slips and processes invoices for payment Assists with monthly inventory related activities (i.e. audits, compiling of information, inputting, etc.) Assists with month end and year end related activities as assigned by Assistant Accounting Manager Assists with filing of accounting related documents Provides functional support to Assistant Accounting Manager by assisting on special projects as required QUALIFICATIONS: Post secondary education in business administration (college or university) required Minimum 1-2 years experience working in an accounting role required Understanding of all applicable legislation related to accounting and its functions is essential Knowledge of Simply Accounting, Accounting/Purchasing related terminology and procedures considered an asset Excellent verbal and communication skills required Must be a team player / self starter with excellent language and communication skills, who pays attention to accuracy and detail Must possess excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills to effectively provide departmental support in an effective and efficient manner Please send your resume and cover letter stating experience and wage expectations in strictest confidence to: jford@tsi-cn.ca Please put in subject line of email: “ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT” We appreciate all responses, but only those candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.

Welding Supervisor (Afternoon shift)

Zelus Material Handling, one of Ontario’s leading service providers and manufacturers of overhead cranes and material handling solutions, is currently recruiting for a working Welding Supervisor for Afternoons in Tillsonburg, Ontario.  Responisbilities of the working Welding Supervisor (Afternoon Shift) are as follows:   Read, interpret and follow work orders, process specifications, engineered drawings and blueprints Operate equipment according to procedures including Canadian Welding Bureau Set up and operate heavy duty metal working machines. This includes torches, drills, dye grinders, hammers, levels, and overhead cranes to rig, hoist and move materials within worksite Communicating critical information to supervisor and oncoming shifts including quality concerns, tooling issues, maintenance concerns and production requirements.
